We are proud to share that Dr. Justin Lee has won the American Burn Association Carl A. Moyer Resident Award for a paper he helped to publish in the Journal of Burn Care & Research.
Titled “Comparing artificial intelligence guided image assessment to current methods of burn assessments,” the paper examines the ability of Skinopathy AI to assess skin burns compared to clinicians and other medical technologies, including Laser Doppler Imaging.
This was a collaboration with:
Dr. Mahla Abdolahnejad
Dr. Alexander Morzycki
Tara Freeman
Dr. Hannah Chan, MD, MHM
Dr. Colin Hong
Dr. Rakesh Joshi (Ph.D., MMAI)
Dr. Joshua N. Wong
The Carl A. Moyer Resident Award is given for the best paper submitted by an individual training to be a medical doctor currently in residency or medical school.
Dr. Moyer (1908 – 1970) was a brilliant surgical investigator and is best known for introducing the topical use of silver nitrate to prevent infection in major burns. This award is an eminently suitable memorial to his contribution to medicine.
And now we kindly ask that you please join us in celebrating Dr. Lee’s incredible accomplishment!
