🎤 AI revolutionizes wound monitoring at CSPS 2025.
At this year’s Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons (CSPS) Annual Meeting, Dr. Justin Lee from the University of Alberta presented collaborative research with Skinopathy, Alberta Health Services, and the National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada.
🔍 The breakthrough: AI accurately measures wound size and maps vascularization progress in Biodegradable Temporizing Matrices (BTM), turning complex surgical monitoring into precise, visual data.
âť“What’s next: Visual Language Models (VLM) that combine imaging with clinical notes to suggest intelligent treatment paths, essentially giving surgeons an AI copilot.
This isn’t just incremental progress. It’s machine learning meeting surgical precision to transform patient outcomes.
Outstanding work by: Justin Lee, Joshua Wong, Hannah Chan, MD (IMG), MHM, Alexander Morzycki, Mahla Abdolahnejad, Nikoo Mashayekhi, Rakesh Joshi (Ph.D., MMAI), and Dr. Colin Hong.
Thanks to Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons for hosting this inspiring Toronto event.
