Skinopathy and SGP Purchasing Network Announce National Partnership to Accelerate AI-Powered Wound Care Adoption Across Canada

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

TORONTO, ON – March 25, 2026 – At the Ontario Long-Term Care Association’s Together We Care conference, Skinopathy announced a national strategic channel partnership with SGP Purchasing Network, a division of Extendicare. The agreement is expected to accelerate the deployment of Skinopathy’s AI-powered wound care platform across SGP’s network of more than 2,500 member organizations nationwide.

The announcement comes amid growing provincial focus on innovation and advancements in wound care, as long-term care providers seek solutions that improve both clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.

“We are very excited to partner with Skinopathy,” said Jason Horne, VP of SGP Purchasing Network. “What truly sets Skinopathy apart is their innovative use of AI and how it is setting new standards in wound care.”

Skinopathy Wounds is an AI-enabled clinical decision support platform designed to bring greater objectivity, consistency, and efficiency to wound assessments. The technology supports care teams by standardizing wound measurement, enhancing tissue visualization, and enabling more equitable assessment across all skin tones.

“Our partnership with SGP represents an important step toward scaling Canadian innovation directly to the frontline,” said Keith Loo, CEO and Co-Founder of Skinopathy. “Providers across the country are looking for practical technologies that support staff, strengthen documentation, and ultimately improve resident care. We believe AI-supported wound assessment will play an increasingly important role in modern long-term care.”

The partnership builds on a 12-month prospective product evaluation conducted with peopleCare Communities, which became the first long-term care operator in Canada to use Skinopathy Wounds in a clinical setting. The evaluation yielded incredible results, including:

  • 56.7% reduction in average wound assessment time, reducing assessments to approximately 6.5 minutes per resident
  • 99% documentation completion supporting regulatory compliance
  • 95% pressure injury classification accuracy
  • Estimated nurse time and product savings of $3,500 to $8,500 per patient annually

“peopleCare Communities demonstrated incredible leadership by helping validate a new approach to wound care in a real clinical environmt,” added Loo. “Their willingness to innovate has helped generate insights that can benefit providers and residents across the sector.”

Following the validation results and growing sector interest, Skinopathy is now engaging with multiple operators exploring implementation opportunities in 2026.

Skinopathy is showcasing its technology at the OLTCA Together We Care conference alongside SGP leadership.
