Medical Research

Skinopathy works closely with universities, hospitals, NGOs, industry, and government to publish research about our technology

Featured RESEARCH & PUBLICATIONS

Vitiligo

Smartphone-based  vitiligo lesion mapping and tracking across all skin tones that potentially rivals wood-lamp sensitivity. Debut at the World Vitiligo Day 2025.

Wounds

Web-Based wound management tool for nurses that measures wound, tissue segmentation, treatment planning and healing assessments-currently in LTC, outpatient, and at-home pilot studies.

Acne

Skinopathy leverages equitable image-based assessment and AI for acne management. A multimodal AI pipeline combines standardized imaging, skin tone calibration, and IGA-based tracking for all skin types.

Burns

Boundary Attention Mapping (BAM) technology enables fine-grained Burn segmentation from mobile images. The Award-winning AI pipeline potentially rivals LDI accuracy for classifying burn severity and segmenting wounds, enabling Mobile-based, cost-effective triage, tracking and remote monitoring.

Atopic Dermatitis

AI-enabled assessment of Atopic Dermatitis visual attributes across all skin tones. Demonstrates how machine learning enables accurate erythema and lesion grading even in skin types traditionally deemed “unable to assess.”

Skin Cancer

Skinopathy has developed  an award-winning lesion classification and ABCD assessment systems. This system leverages BAM segmentation, and clinically-guided overlays, for effective segmentations. We highlight a use case to support SCC resection planning with image-based decision tools.
